Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets transcription factor HES-5 (gene her4.1) in zebrafish samples and is validated for IHC.
In zebrafish, her4.1 is a basic helix-loop-helix-Orange transcriptional repressor of the Hairy/Enhancer of split family, related to mammalian HES5. It is a direct Notch target that keeps neural progenitors undifferentiated by repressing proneural genes, and her4 reporters are widely used readouts of Notch activity in zebrafish neurogenesis studies.

| Formulation | Per vial: 4 mg trehalose; 0.9 mg NaCl; 0.2 mg Na2HPO4 |
| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish HER4(1+2+3+5) fragment (Met1–Trp152), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places transcription factor HES-5 in the nucleus.
