Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets hypoxanthine phosphoribosyltransferase (gene hprt1) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
Hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase (HPRT1) is the key enzyme of the purine salvage pathway, recycling hypoxanthine and guanine into IMP and GMP. Complete loss of HPRT1 causes Lesch-Nyhan syndrome, and because it is steadily expressed it is also a common reference gene in expression studies.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, female zebrafish viscera tissue, male zebrafish viscera tissue, whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue, zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish brain tissue, zebrafish retina tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Recombinant zebrafish HPRT1 fragment (Ala29–Arg91), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places hypoxanthine phosphoribosyltransferase in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
