Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets pitrilysin (gene ide) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
Insulin-degrading enzyme (IDE) is a zinc metalloprotease that cleaves insulin and a range of other short peptides, including glucagon, amylin and amyloid-β. Its large internal chamber lets it capture and degrade small substrates, and it is studied in glucose homeostasis, type 2 diabetes and amyloid clearance in the brain.

| Observed MW | 120 kDa |
| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish muscle tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish IDE fragment (Phe464–Lys735), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt describes pitrilysin as secreted and also located in the cell membrane and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
