Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets insulin-like growth factor 2 (gene igf2a) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
In zebrafish, igf2a is one of two paralogs of insulin-like growth factor 2 that arose from the teleost genome duplication. Like mammalian IGF-2, it is a growth-promoting peptide hormone, and it is studied in zebrafish embryonic growth and development.
| Target | Insulin-like growth factor 2 (gene igf2a; UniProt Q9PUD0, zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| Host / Clonality / Isotype | Rabbit / Polyclonal / Rabbit IgG |
| Reactivity | Zebrafish |
| Form | Lyophilized |
| Formulation | Per vial: 4 mg trehalose; 0.9 mg NaCl; 0.2 mg Na2HPO4 |
| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish eye tissue, zebrafish brain tissue, zebrafish liver tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish IGF2A fragment (Gly41–Lys197), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt describes insulin-like growth factor 2 as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
