Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects interleukin-1 (gene il1b) in zebrafish samples and is validated for IHC.
Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine made as an inactive precursor and processed by caspase-1 after inflammasome activation. Acting through IL1R1 and IL1RAP, it induces fever, prostaglandin synthesis, neutrophil recruitment and Th17 differentiation, and it is one of the most studied mediators of inflammation.

| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish brain tissue, zebrafish cerebellum tissue, zebrafish kidney tissue, zebrafish colon tissue, zebrafish muscle tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish IL-1 beta/IL1B fragment (Met1–Ile284), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt describes interleukin-1 as secreted and also located in the cytoplasm and lysosome.
