Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes mast/stem cell growth factor receptor kita in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
In zebrafish, kita encodes a receptor tyrosine kinase related to mammalian KIT that binds kit ligand. It is required for the migration and survival of neural crest-derived melanocytes and for the differentiation of many of them, and kita mutants (known as sparse) lack a large share of body melanocytes. Zebrafish kita is widely used in pigment cell and melanoma research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish brain tissue, zebrafish ovary tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places mast/stem cell growth factor receptor kita in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (zebrafish): Expressed in cells of the neural crest-melanocyte lineage. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
