Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes kynurenine 3-monooxygenase (gene kmo) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
Kynurenine 3-monooxygenase (KMO) is an FAD-dependent enzyme of the outer mitochondrial membrane that converts L-kynurenine into 3-hydroxykynurenine in the kynurenine pathway of tryptophan breakdown. This step leads toward quinolinic acid, an NMDA receptor agonist, and NAD+ synthesis. KMO is studied in neurodegeneration, inflammation and pancreatitis, and in zebrafish it is also studied in development.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish tissue, zebrafish head tissue, zebrafish body tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places kynurenine 3-monooxygenase in the mitochondrion outer membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
