Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes DNA replication licensing factor MCM2 in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
MCM2 is a subunit of the MCM2-7 complex, the ring-shaped replicative helicase that is loaded onto origins of DNA replication and unwinds DNA during S phase. MCM2 also binds histones and helps handle them at the replication fork. Because MCM proteins are present in proliferating but not resting cells, MCM2 is widely used as a proliferation marker.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 8% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish MCM2 fragment (Ala381–Arg835), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places DNA replication licensing factor MCM2 in the chromosome and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
