Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes methionine aminopeptidase 2 (gene metap2a) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
In zebrafish, metap2a encodes a methionine aminopeptidase 2, an enzyme that removes the initiator methionine from newly synthesized proteins when the next amino acid is small. By analogy with the mammalian enzyme, it may also help protect translation initiation, and it is studied in protein processing during zebrafish development.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish brain tissue, zebrafish spinal cord tissue, zebrafish heart tissue, zebrafish muscle tissue, zebrafish kidney tissue, zebrafish liver tissue, zebrafish colon tissue, zebrafish pancreas tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Recombinant zebrafish METAP2a/b fragment (Glu191–Arg464), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places methionine aminopeptidase 2 in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
