Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects myoblast determination protein 1 homolog (gene myod1) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
MyoD (MYOD1) is a bHLH transcription factor and master regulator of skeletal muscle identity. Together with Myf5 and myogenin it activates muscle-specific genes and can convert fibroblasts into myoblasts. It is a standard marker of activated satellite cells and committed myoblasts in myogenesis and muscle regeneration studies.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Recombinant zebrafish MYOD1 fragment (Met1–Leu275), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places myoblast determination protein 1 homolog in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (zebrafish): From mid-gastrula to just before somite formation, expressed in cells adjacent to axial mesoderm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
