Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects pro-neuropeptide Y (gene npy) in zebrafish samples and is validated for IHC.
Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a 36-amino-acid peptide and one of the most abundant neuropeptides in the brain, also released by sympathetic neurons. Acting through Y-family G protein-coupled receptors, it strongly stimulates food intake and also affects stress, anxiety, circadian rhythms and blood vessel tone. NPY is widely studied in energy balance and neuroscience.

| Form | Lyophilized |
| Formulation | Per vial: 4 mg trehalose; 0.9 mg NaCl; 0.2 mg Na2HPO4 |
| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish brain tissue, zebrafish kidney tissue, zebrafish liver tissue, zebrafish colon tissue, zebrafish muscle tissue, zebrafish eye tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish Neuropeptide Y/NPY fragment (Gly28–Gln62), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt describes pro-neuropeptide Y as a secreted protein.
