Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects profilin (gene pfn2a) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
In zebrafish, pfn2a encodes a profilin, a small actin-binding protein that controls the supply of actin monomers for filament assembly. Profilins bind actin, PIP2 and proline-rich proteins and help regulate cytoskeletal dynamics, and zebrafish profilins are studied in development and cell motility.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue, zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 12% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish PFN2a/b fragment (Ile87–Phe139), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places profilin in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
