Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets piwi-like protein 1 (gene piwil1) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
PIWIL1 (HIWI) is a Piwi-family Argonaute protein that binds piRNAs in the germline. Guided by these small RNAs, it cleaves transposon transcripts and helps silence transposable elements during spermatogenesis, protecting genome integrity, and it is also studied for its aberrant expression in some tumors.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): whole female zebrafish tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish eye tissue, zebrafish ovary tissue, zebrafish brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Recombinant zebrafish PIWIL1 fragment (Gln129–Lys731), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places piwi-like protein 1 in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (zebrafish): Expressed exclusively in the adult gonads. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
