Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes U4/U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein Prp31 (gene prpf31) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
PRPF31 is a component of the U4/U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein that is required to assemble the U4/U6-U5 tri-snRNP, a building block of the spliceosome. Mutations in PRPF31 cause an autosomal dominant form of retinitis pigmentosa, which has made it a focus of both splicing and retinal degeneration research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Recombinant zebrafish PRPF31 fragment (Asn84–Lys499), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places U4/U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein Prp31 in the nucleus and nucleus speckle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
