Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets large ribosomal subunit protein uL2 (gene rpl8) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
RPL8 (uL2) is a highly conserved protein of the large 60S ribosomal subunit that lies close to the peptidyl transferase center, where peptide bonds form. It is used in studies of ribosome structure, translation and ribosome biogenesis in humans and in zebrafish and other models.
| Target | Large ribosomal subunit protein uL2 (gene rpl8; UniProt Q6P0V6, zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| Host / Clonality / Isotype | Rabbit / Polyclonal / Rabbit IgG |
| Reactivity | Zebrafish |
| Form | Lyophilized |
| Formulation | Per vial: 4 mg trehalose; 0.9 mg NaCl; 0.2 mg Na2HPO4 |
| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish colon tissue, zebrafish pancreas tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish RPL8 fragment (Met1–Asn257), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places large ribosomal subunit protein uL2 in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
