Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes superoxide dismutase (gene sod2) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
Superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2, MnSOD) is a manganese-containing enzyme in the mitochondrial matrix that converts superoxide made during respiration into hydrogen peroxide and oxygen. As a major defense against mitochondrial oxidative damage, it is widely used as a marker in studies of oxidative stress, mitochondrial function and aging.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue, zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 12% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish SOD2 fragment (Met1–Lys224), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places superoxide dismutase in the mitochondrion matrix. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
