Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets regulator of nonsense transcripts 1 (gene upf1) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
UPF1 is an ATP-dependent RNA helicase that is the central factor of nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). It recognizes mRNAs that stop translating too early, becomes phosphorylated, and recruits decay enzymes to degrade them. UPF1 also shapes the levels of many normal transcripts and is studied in RNA quality control and gene expression.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 8% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Recombinant zebrafish UPF1 fragment (Phe538–Asp591), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places regulator of nonsense transcripts 1 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
