In Vitro
Antibacterial agent 84 (1-16 μg/mL) inhibits the growth of the human pathogen C. albicans SC5314[1]. Antibacterial agent 84 (16 μg/mL, 18 h) triggers CNB1-dependent production of endogenous reactive oxygen species (ROS) in C. albicans[1]. In C. albicans, Antibacterial agent 84 (16 μg/mL, 18 h) is cytotoxic via lysosomal membrane permeabilization[1]. At 16 μg/mL for 18 h, Antibacterial agent 84 promotes phagocytosis of C. albicans by macrophages[1]. Antibacterial agent 84 (0.06-32 μg/mL) inhibits ergosterol synthesis in cultures of C. albicans and C. tropicalis[1].
