Compound Overview
Antimicrobial agent-7 is a potent antimicrobial agent with an MIC range of 2-8 μg/mL against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. It also shows anti-inflammatory activity against lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammation[1]. Its molecular formula is C36H56N24, with a molecular weight of 824.99 g/mol.

In Vitro
Antimicrobial agent-7 (2.8-56.4 μM; 24 h) inhibits the growth of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria[1]. In RAW 264.7 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide, Antimicrobial agent-7 (5 and 20 μg/mL; 18 h) inhibits production of nitric oxide (NO) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)[1]. Antimicrobial agent-7 shows proteolytic resistance and salt/serum stability[1]. Antimicrobial agent-7 has synergistic or additive effects when combined with selected clinically used antibiotics[1].
