Compound Overview
Antitumor agent-86 inhibits MCF-7 breast cancer cells with an IC50 of 2.62 μM. It induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in these cells and displays antineoplastic activity through effects on the RAS/PI3K/Akt/JNK signaling cascades[1]. It has a molecular formula of C29H31N5O2S and a molecular weight of 513.65 g/mol.

In Vitro
Antitumor agent-86 (0-200 μM; 48 h) dose-dependently suppresses proliferation of MCF-7, MDA-MB-231, Caco-2, and PANC-1 cancer cells, with IC50 values of 2.617, 6.778, 14.8 and 23.58 μM, respectively[1]. In MCF-7 cells, Antitumor agent-86 (2.62 μM; 48 h) induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest and decreases p-RAS protein levels, PI3K and Akt mRNA transcript levels, and p-JNK protein expression[1]. Antitumor agent-86 (2.62 μM; 48 h) up-regulates p21 gene expression[1].
