Safety

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and not for human or veterinary use. Handle in accordance with your institution's chemical hygiene plan.

In Vivo

Given daily for 15 weeks (0.3-10 mg/kg; food intake), BI 703704 lowers urinary protein excretion (UPE) and raises renal cGMP content, both in a dose-dependent manner[1]. BI 703704 effectively elevates renal cGMP levels dose-dependently and slows the progression of diabetic nephropathy in an oxidative stress milieu[1].

Animal ModelFifty-eight male ZSF1 rats (12-13 weeks)[1]
Dosage0.3, 1, 3, or 10 mg/kg
AdministrationFood intake; daily for 15 weeks
ResultResulted in dose-dependent decreases in urinary protein excretion (UPE), and a dose-dependent increase in renal cGMP content.
