Overview
Biotin Antibody is an antibody targeting Biotin. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: rBTN/8819. Format: Purified. Conjugate: Biotin. Applications: FACS, IF, WB, IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: Biotin.
- Immunogen: Biotinylated sheep immunoglobulin was used as the immunogen for the Biotin antibody..
- Species reactivity: All species.
Biological background (from provided description)
It recognizes both the free and protein-conjugated (either soluble or cell bound) form of biotin. This mAb is highly specific to biotin and shows no cross-reaction with other structurally related compounds. It has a very high affinity for biotin and is excellent for use in various amplification techniques.
Common research applications
- WB: relative abundance and band pattern assessment using appropriate controls.
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
- IF/ICC: subcellular localization imaging with proper background controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
