Compound Overview
Carpachromene is a potent inhibitor of the α-glucosidase enzyme. It ameliorates insulin resistance in HepG2 cells by modulating the IR/IRS1/PI3k/Akt/GSK3/FoxO1 pathway[1]. It is supplied as a light yellow to yellow solid (C20H16O5, MW 336.34) at 98.84% purity.

In Vitro
Carpachromene (0-100 μg/mL, 48 h) is cytotoxic to HepG2, HepG2/IRM, PLC/PRF/5 and Raji cancer cell lines[1]. In HepG2/IRM cells, Carpachromene (20 μg/mL) markedly raises the protein expression ratios of IR, IRS1, PI3K, Akt, GSK3 and FoxO1[1]. Carpachromene (20 μg/mL) enhances cellular glycogen synthesis in HepG2/IRM cells[1].
