Overview
CEA Antibody / CEACAM5 is an antibody targeting CEA. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: CEACAM5/12673. Format: Purified. Applications: WB, IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: CEA.
- Immunogen: Human CEA/CECAM5 protein was used as the immunogen for the CEA antibody..
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Cytoplasm and luminal surface.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
This antibody recognizes proteins of 80-200kDa, identified as different members of CEA family. CEA is synthesized during development in the fetal gut and is re-expressed in increased amounts in intestinal carcinomas and several other tumors. This MAb does not react with nonspecific cross-reacting antigen (NCA) and with human polymorphonuclear leucocytes.
Common research applications
- WB: relative abundance and band pattern assessment using appropriate controls.
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
