Coenzyme A (CoA) carries a free thiol group that is used for its detection. This kit measures CoA at micromolar concentrations and can also be used for other thiols; acetyl-CoA is not detected.
Kit Components
| Component | CAK1000 |
|---|---|
| 10 x CAK reagent | 750 µl |
Enough for 1000 samples in 384-well plates or 250 in 96-well plates; cuvettes may also be used.
Assay Principle
The thiol group of CoA reacts with the CAK reagent and increases its fluorescence at 535 nm (excitation 485 nm). Acetyl-CoA does not react. Concentrations are calculated from a linear CoA standard curve.
