Cyclic AMP (cAMP) Activity Fluorometric Assay Kit

SKU:BHT19600042
Overview
Click light‑blue chips for details
Cyclic AMP concentrations swing over several orders of magnitude within seconds of receptor engagement. This kit quantifies Cyclic AMP (cAMP) Activity by absorbance (tmb endpoint) at Ex/Em = 535/585 nm. Suitable for cell culture supernatants, serum, tissue. Sub-nanomolar sensitivity resolves basal cAMP and small agonist responses that colorimetric formats cannot.

About the Analyte

Cyclic AMP concentrations swing over several orders of magnitude within seconds of receptor engagement, so assays with sub-nanomolar sensitivity are needed to resolve GPCR pharmacology in small samples.

Assay Principle

The Cyclic AMP (cAMP) Activity Fluorometric Assay Kit applies a competitive ELISA format to this measurement, read at Ex/Em = 535/585 nm. Hands-on and incubation time is 2 hours + 30 minutes development.

Following the incubation and wash step, an ultra-sensitive HRP fluorescence substrate is added to generate fluorescence can be measured at excitation 535 nm and emission at 585 nm.

Sub-nanomolar sensitivity resolves basal cAMP and small agonist responses that colorimetric formats cannot.

Q.What instrument do I need to quantify this analyte?
A.This kit requires a standard absorbance plate reader. The readout is taken at Ex/Em = 535/585 nm.
Q.What does the measured level tell me?
A.Sub-nanomolar sensitivity resolves basal cAMP and small agonist responses that colorimetric formats cannot.
Q.Why measure Cyclic AMP (cAMP) Activity?
A.Cyclic AMP concentrations swing over several orders of magnitude within seconds of receptor engagement, so assays with sub-nanomolar sensitivity are needed to resolve GPCR pharmacology in small samples.
Q.Which sample matrices are validated?
A.The datasheet lists cell culture supernatants, serum, tissue. Other matrices can usually be adapted, but run a spike-recovery check before relying on the values.
Q.How long does the quantitation take?
A.Combined incubation and handling time is 2 hours + 30 minutes development. Keep this interval identical across plates in the same study, since timing differences show up directly in the endpoint.
Q.What is the detection range?
A.The kit is validated for MDD 0.1 nM under datasheet conditions. Dilute samples that read above the range and concentrate those below it rather than extrapolating from the standard curve.
