Product Overview

DB Primary Antibody diluent is an immunohistochemistry reagent from DB Biotech.

DB Antibody diluent is designed for the application in immunohistochemistry. The reagent is in a ready-to-use format and is used to dilute the concentrated primary antibodies. It is designed in order to optimize the antibody performance and reduce the possible nonspecific background staining.

Composition & Storage

Preservative 0.05% NaN3.
Stabilizer 10 mg/ml BSA.
Storage 4-8 °C.

Procedure

Based on suggested dilutions, add the concentrated antibody directly to the diluent and mix thoroughly.

Safety & Handling

For Research Use Only (RUO). Consult the Safety Data Sheet before use.

Storage4-8 °C.
What antibody classes is this diluent compatible with?

This diluent is formulated for use with primary antibodies of all major classes (IgG, IgM) from common host species including rabbit, mouse, goat, and rat. It is suitable for both polyclonal and monoclonal primary antibodies used in chromogenic and fluorescent IHC protocols on FFPE tissue sections.

Does the diluent reduce non-specific staining?

Yes. The formulation contains blocking agents that occupy non-specific binding sites on tissue sections, helping to reduce background staining without compromising specific signal. Optimal dilution of the primary antibody in this diluent should still be determined by titration, as antibody-specific characteristics also contribute to background.

Can this diluent be used for frozen tissue sections?

The diluent is optimized primarily for FFPE tissue sections. For frozen sections, compatibility should be evaluated empirically, as membrane antigen accessibility and tissue adhesion requirements differ. Consult the antibody manufacturer's recommended diluent for frozen section protocols.
