Compound Overview
ddATP, also known as 2',3'-Dideoxyadenosine 5'-triphosphate, is an active metabolite of 2',3'-dideoxyinosine that acts as a chain-elongating inhibitor of DNA polymerase. It can be used in the Sanger method of DNA sequencing and in research on virus infection[1][2][4]. It is supplied as a colorless to light yellow liquid (C10H16N5O11P3, MW 475.18).

In Vitro
ddATP (0.05-50 μM, 30 min) blocks adenovirus DNA synthesis in isolated nuclei from adenovirus-infected KB cells[1]. In DSB (DNA double-strand breaks) oocytes, ddATP (100 μM, 5 h) lowers the number of γH2A.X foci[3]. ddATP inhibits HIV replication through inhibition of HIV reverse transcriptase[5].
