Product Overview
DL5000 DNA Marker (DL 5000 Ladder DNA Marker) is composed of 8 kinds of DNA fragments with a length of 100 bp to 5,000 bp, dissolved in 1× Loading Buffer, and can be loaded directly, 5–10 µL per well, with no further preparation.
The eight fragments are 100, 250, 500, 750, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 and 5,000 bp. The 750 bp and 3,000 bp reference bands contain 100 ng per 5 µL and every other band contains 50 ng per 5 µL. The marker is ready to use and needs no added loading buffer. For fragments of 100–500 bp a 2.5%–3% agarose gel is recommended, and for fragments of 500–5,000 bp a 1.5%–2% agarose gel is recommended.

Applications
- Sizing of DNA fragments in agarose gel electrophoresis
- Direct loading as a size reference alongside samples
Key Features
- Two optimized Loading Buffer dyes are added without blocking the brightness of DNA band fluorescence.
Storage & Handling
Stored at -20°C with a shelf life of two years.
Usage Notes
- Load 5 µL per run when the sample well is narrower than 5 mm; increase the volume for wider wells.
- Use 2.5%–3% agarose for fragments expected between 100 and 500 bp, and 1.5%–2% agarose for fragments expected between 500 and 5,000 bp.
- Agarose purity strongly affects the clarity of DNA bands, so the best quality agarose should be used.
- Higher agarose concentration improves separation of short DNA fragments, while lower concentration favours separation of long fragments.
