Compound Overview

DNA gyrase B-IN-2 is a 2-aminobenzothiazole-based inhibitor of DNA gyrase B with promising activity against ESKAPE bacterial pathogens. It shows low nanomolar inhibition of DNA gyrase (IC50 < 10 nM) and broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against the ESKAPE group, with a minimum inhibitory concentration below 0.03 μg/mL for most Gram-positive strains and 4–16 μg/mL against the Gram-negative species E. coli, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae, and it can be used for infection research[1]. It is supplied as a light yellow to yellow solid (C18H18Cl2N4O4S, MW 457.33) at 99.77% purity.

Safety

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and not for human or veterinary use. Handle in accordance with the Safety Data Sheet and your institution's chemical hygiene plan.

In Vitro

SolventSolubilityNotes
DMSO2 mg/mL (4.37 mM)requires sonication and warming and heat to 60°C; use freshly opened DMSO (absorbed moisture lowers solubility)

Aliquot the stock solution and store it at -80°C (up to 6 months) or -20°C (up to 1 month); avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
