Compound Overview

Dothiepin, also known as Dosulepin or Dothep, is an antidepressant with sedative/anxiolytic activity that preferentially inhibits noradrenaline uptake over serotonin uptake. It facilitates noradrenergic neurotransmission by inhibiting neuronal uptake and also acts as a histamine H1-receptor antagonist without cardiotoxicity. It exhibits significant analgesic activity in psychogenic facial pain, idiopathic fibromyalgia syndrome, and rheumatoid arthritis[1]. It is supplied as a white to light yellow solid (C19H21NS, MW 295.44) at 98.50% purity.
