DNA / RNA Nanoparticles

Product Overview

DPPC Liposome for DNA and RNA Nanoparticles is a ready-to-load liposome carrying positive charges for making DNA or RNA nanoparticles. The lipid composition is DPPC : cholesterol : dodecylamine = 6.6 : 3.4 : 1, and the empty liposome has a mean size of 120 nm.

DNA or RNA is loaded by a simple incubation step. At a lipid-to-nucleic acid mass ratio of 33, the liposome size almost doubles. The loaded liposomes are DNA or RNA nanoparticles for research and drug discovery applications. The liposome may be diluted with water.

Safety & Handling

For Research Use Only (RUO). Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Follow standard laboratory safety practices.
Q.How is DNA or RNA loaded?
A.By a simple incubation of the nucleic acid with the liposome. At a lipid-to-nucleic acid mass ratio of 33, the liposome size almost doubles.
Q.Why does the liposome carry a positive charge?
A.The dodecylamine in the lipid mix gives the liposome positive charges, which allow loading of negatively charged DNA or RNA.
Q.Can I dilute it?
A.Yes, the liposome may be diluted with water.
Q.How is it shipped and stored?
A.Shipped cold (not frozen). Store at 2–8°C. Do not freeze.
