Dynasore is a cell-permeable inhibitor of dynamin GTPases, which are essential for clathrin-mediated endocytosis. In neuroscience, Dynasore is used to study synaptic vesicle recycling, membrane trafficking, and neurodegenerative mechanisms involving endocytic dysfunction. Its ability to transiently block endocytosis makes it a valuable tool for dissecting cellular pathways implicated in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease models.
