Scientific Background
Enterokinase is a specific protease that cleaves after lysine at its cleavage site Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys. It will sometimes cleave at other basic residues, depending on the conformation of the protein substrate.
Product Description
This recombinant preparation of Enterokinase cleaves fusion proteins at the C-terminus of the DDDDK recognition sequence. It is produced in Yeast cells and supplied at >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Typical use is removing affinity tags from recombinant fusion proteins during purification.
