Compound Overview
EthD-III is a nucleic acid probe and a red fluorescent stain that can be used to detect dead cells. It enters cells with damaged membranes and binds to nucleic acids, producing bright red fluorescence in dead cells at an excitation/emission of 530/645 nm[1][2]. It is supplied as a dark purple to black solid (C51H62Cl5N9, MW 978.36) at 95.0% purity.
