FPS-ZM1 is a high-affinity inhibitor of the receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE), which is implicated in neuroinflammation and amyloid-beta transport across the blood-brain barrier. In neurodegenerative disease research, FPS-ZM1 has demonstrated efficacy in reducing amyloid-beta accumulation, oxidative stress, and inflammatory signaling in models of Alzheimer’s disease. Its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and selectively block RAGE makes it a promising therapeutic candidate for mitigating neurodegeneration and cognitive decline.
