FuniCut™ restriction enzymes are engineered via recombinant technology to enable precise DNA digestion within 5–15 minutes. They are suitable for rapid digestion of plasmid DNA, PCR products, genomic DNA, and other substrates. All FuniCut™ Fast Restriction Enzymes share a universal reaction buffer, simplifying the setup of digestion reactions. Additionally, these enzymes exhibit high activity redundancy, allowing efficient digestion even with excess substrate or challenging templates.

[Note]: *The 10× FuniCut™ Color Buffer contains red and yellow tracking dyes, enabling direct loading of digested samples onto agarose gels. In a 1% agarose gel, the red dye migrates similarly to a 2500 bp dsDNA fragment, while the yellow dye migrates similarly to a 10 bp dsDNA fragment.

Shipping and Storage

This product should be stored at -25℃~-15℃ for up to 2 years.

Store this enzyme at -20°C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve catalytic activity. The product is shipped Dry Ice and remains stable for up to one year from the date of manufacture when stored under recommended conditions. Aliquoting the stock solution into single-use volumes is recommended for enzymes used infrequently to minimize thermal cycling of the bulk stock.

This enzyme is validated for use in Cloning & Assembly applications. It is suitable for use in both standard laboratory research settings and, where applicable, optimized reaction workflows requiring high specificity, sensitivity, or throughput.

One unit (U) is defined as the amount of enzyme required to completely digest 1 µg of lambda DNA (or specified substrate DNA) in 60 min at the recommended incubation temperature in a total reaction volume of 50 µL.

This enzyme is produced as Recombinant (E. coli) and supplied as a Research Use Only (RUO) reagent. Each lot is subjected to activity assay, purity assessment by SDS-PAGE, and functional validation prior to release. A Certificate of Analysis (CoA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) are available on request.

Restriction enzyme efficiency depends on buffer composition (NaCl/KCl concentration, pH, Mg²⁺), incubation temperature (typically 37°C), and template quality. Star activity—non-specific cleavage at relaxed recognition sequences—can occur under conditions of excess enzyme, extended incubation, high glycerol concentration, or non-optimal ionic strength. Use of manufacturer-supplied buffers and adherence to recommended enzyme:DNA ratios (typically 1–10 U per µg DNA) minimizes star activity.
