Compound Overview

GEA 857 is structurally related to alaproclate, a serotonin uptake blocker. By inhibiting certain calcium-dependent potassium channels in cell membranes, it strengthens responses triggered by muscarinic receptor agonists, and this channel blockade can extend or amplify muscarinic cholinergic effects. The compound can be used in neurodegenerative disease research[1]. It has the molecular formula C15H22ClNO2 and a molecular weight of 283.79 g/mol.
