Single-strand DNA-binding protein (SSB) binds single-stranded DNA, or single-stranded regions of double-stranded DNA, during DNA replication, recombination and repair; for example, DNA helicase unwinding creates single-strand DNA. E. coli SSB forms a homotetramer of 19 kDa subunits.
Kit vs Kit Plus
The only difference is that GSSB100KE (Kit Plus) also includes 150 µl of 2 mg/ml E. coli SSB protein; GSSB100K contains the buffer, ssDNA and loading buffer only, for use with your own SSB protein.

Assay Principle
SSB is mixed with a 45-mer single-strand DNA and run on a conventional acrylamide gel. SSB-bound DNA migrates more slowly than free DNA, so binding activity shows as a band shift.
