Compound Overview
Glutathione monoisopropyl ester, also known as Glutathione isopropyl ester and YM 737, is an ester derivative of glutathione. It can increase glutathione concentrations in tissues such as the liver, lungs, heart, and brain of mice, producing a dose-dependent protective effect against liver injury, and it inhibits ultraviolet-induced lipid peroxidation, inflammatory responses, and tumorigenesis in the skin of hairless mice by maintaining epidermal glutathione levels. It also inhibits the progression of X-ray-induced cataracts in rats[1][2][3]. It has the molecular formula C13H23N3O6S and a molecular weight of 349.40 g/mol.
