Compound Overview

Glycolate oxidase-IN-1, a salicylic acid derivative inhibits glycolate oxidase (GO) with an IC50 of 38.2 μM. It reduces oxalate production in hyperoxalate hepatocytes and can be used in the study of primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1)[1]. It has the molecular formula C12H8O5 and a molecular weight of 232.19 g/mol.

Safety

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and not for human or veterinary use. Handle in accordance with your institution's chemical hygiene plan.

In Vitro

In mouse hepatocytes treated with Glycolate oxidase-IN-1(0-12.5 μM, 48 h), excreted oxalate falls significantly, by 67.3 ± 32% at 6.25 μM. At 12.5 μM, the reductions are 105.8 ± 29.2% after 24 hours and 62.3 ± 24.4% after 48 hours of treatment, with no cytotoxicity[1].
