Physical & Chemical Properties
- Excitation Wavelength: 470 nm
- Chemical Stability: The product is chemically stable under standard ambient conditions (room temperature).
- Incompatible Materials: Strong oxidizing agents
- Conditions to Avoid: Exposure to moisture.
These are monodisperse polystyrene-based microspheres (167, 300, and 500 nm) with carboxylate surface groups, green fluorescent dye embedded in the polymer matrix (excitation 470 nm / emission 525 nm), and high photostability. Carboxylate groups enable covalent conjugation of antibodies and ligands via EDC/NHS chemistry.
Applications include lateral flow assay (LFA) calibration and quantification, blood flow determination, particle tracing and tracking experiments, flow cytometry calibration, and in vivo imaging and calibration of fluorescence imaging systems.
Particle size affects flow characteristics and steric accessibility. Smaller particles (167 nm) are used for vascular flow studies and cell uptake studies. Larger particles (300–500 nm) are more suitable for LFA test line optimization and when higher per-particle fluorescence signal is needed.
EDC/NHS activation of the carboxylate groups couples amine-bearing proteins, antibodies, or oligonucleotides. The embedded dye is not released during coupling, ensuring stable fluorescence throughout the conjugation workflow.
Store at 2–8°C (do not freeze). A combo pack containing all three sizes (167, 300, and 500 nm, 3 × 10 mL) is available for lateral flow assay development screening.
