Overview
HCG-alpha Antibody is an antibody targeting HCG-alpha. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: rHCGa/6975. Format: Purified. Applications: IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: HCG-alpha.
- Immunogen: A recombinant partial protein sequence (within amino acids 1-116) from the human protein was used as the immunogen for….
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Cytoplasm, Secreted.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
Human chorionic gonadotropin antibody (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone synthesized in syncytiotrophoblastic cells of placenta and in certain trophoblastic tumors. The hormone-specific alpha chains have molecular weights of 13 kDa. HCG is found in moles and choriocarcinoma, chorionic components of germ cell tumors, and syncytiotrophoblast like cells in seminoma/dysgerminoma and embryonal carcinoma.
Common research applications
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
