Human DNA polymerase alpha (Pol α), together with primase, starts DNA synthesis at replication origins and on each Okazaki fragment of the lagging strand. It is a four-subunit complex: POLA1 is the catalytic subunit, POLA2 is regulatory, and PRIM1 and PRIM2 form the small and large primase subunits. Pol α is an anticancer drug target.
This product is the catalytic subunit of human DNA polymerase alpha.

Use With
This enzyme is used in the following ProFoldin assay kits:
- Human DNA Polymerase Alpha Assay Kit (BHT16300001) — HDPA100KE1 already includes this enzyme; HDPA100K is enzyme-free and needs this product
- Human DNA Polymerase Alpha Pyrophosphate Assay Kit Plus (BHT16300002) — complete kit: already includes this enzyme
Protocol
No separate datasheet is available for this enzyme. The ProFoldin protocol “Human DNA Polymerase Alpha Assay” (linked under Documents) shows how the enzyme is used in the matching assay kit.
