Competitive ELISA Kit

Assay Principle

This assay employs the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to HIV (1+2) Antigen & Antibody. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated HIV (1+2) Antigen & Antibody and incubated. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled HIV (1+2) Antigen & Antibody and unlabeled HIV (1+2) Antigen & Antibody with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of HIV (1+2) Antigen & Antibody in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Species Reactivity Human (Homo sapiens)
Stability The stability of ELISA kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test. Keep the kit at 37°C for 4 and 7 days, and compare O.D.values of the kit kept at 37°C with that of at recommended temperature. (referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation. For ELISA kit, 4 days storage at 37°C can be considered as 6 months at 2 - 8°C, which means 7 days at 37°C equaling 12 months at 2 - 8°C).

Assay Workflow

The kit includes the components required for standard-curve quantification (see the kit manual for the component table and validated sample types). Absorbance is read on a standard microplate reader and concentrations are interpolated from the standard curve.

Safety & Handling

For research use only (RUO). Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Handle all samples and reagents using standard laboratory safety practices.

Q.Which sample types are compatible with this kit?
A.Please refer to the kit manual for the validated sample types and matrix-specific dilution guidance for your specimen of interest.
Q.Which plate formats are available?
A.The kit is offered in 48 T and 96 T formats using the same validated antibody pair; choose based on your sample throughput.
Q.What are the detection range and sensitivity?
A.The assay quantifies HIV (1+2) Antigen & Antibody across Detection antibody with a sensitivity available on request. Dilute samples expected above the upper limit into the linear range.
Q.What format is the assay and how do I read results?
A.It is a competitive ELISA read on a standard microplate reader; concentrations are interpolated from the kit standard curve. In competitive format, signal is inversely proportional to analyte concentration.
Q.Can this kit be used for diagnostics?
A.No. It is strictly for research use only (RUO) and must not be used in diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
