Product Overview

Isotype Control

Human IgG1 Recombinant Isotype Control Antibody (REA293), APC is a monoclonal isotype control antibody (clone REA293), conjugated to APC. Isotype control antibodies match the host species, isotype and conjugate of a test antibody but are directed against an antigen absent from the sample, providing a measure of non-specific background binding (Fc-receptor interactions, non-specific membrane adhesion) in immunoassays.

Use this control alongside human-derived IgG1 primary antibodies carrying the same APC label to set gating and background thresholds.

Related Products

This control is also available in the following format(s): FITC, PE, PerCP, Unconjugated. Matching the conjugate of your test antibody gives the most accurate background estimate.

Q.What is this isotype control used for?
A.It provides a matched negative control: an antibody of the same host, isotype and conjugate as your test antibody but with no specificity for antigens in your sample, so any signal it produces represents non-specific background.
Q.Which applications is it listed for?
A.The manufacturer lists Flow Cytometry, In Vivo Studies. Use it under the same conditions and concentration as the test antibody in that application.
Q.How do I choose the right isotype control?
A.Match three properties of your test antibody: host species (Human), isotype (IgG1), and label (APC). All three must match for the background estimate to be valid.
Q.Are other conjugates available?
A.Yes — this control is also offered as: FITC, PE, PerCP, Unconjugated. Choose the version matching your detection channel.
Q.How should it be stored?
A.Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Store at 4°C short term (1-2 weeks). Store at -20°C 12 months. Store at -80°C long term.

Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
