Scientific Background
Interleukin-34 (IL-34) shares the CSF1R (M-CSF receptor) with M-CSF and additionally signals through PTP-ζ and CD138. IL-34 drives monocyte-to-macrophage differentiation, regulates microglial homeostasis in the CNS, and supports Langerhans cell development in skin. Elevated IL-34 levels are associated with rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease.
Product Description
Positive Control PeptideThis positive control is supplied as 100 µL of pre-denatured protein in Laemmli SDS-PAGE sample buffer (SDS, glycerol, Tris pH 6.8, beta-mercaptoethanol). It is designed for direct loading onto SDS-PAGE gels without further preparation, enabling consistent Western Blot positive controls in the same run as experimental samples.
Product Specifications
| UniProt ID | Q6ZMJ4 |
|---|---|
| Formulation | Provided as 100 uL ready-to-use, in SDS-PAGE sample buffer (Laemelli s buffer) containing Tris, pH 6.8, 1 % SDS, Glycerol and Bromophenolblue blue as tracking dye. The sample is reduced by adding 2% beta mercaptoethanol. The protein concentration is empirically adjusted to get a clear band with signal to noise ratio for its corresponding antibody. |
| Storage | Store at-20°C for long term storage. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. |
| Application | Western Blot (WB) |
Usage Notes
Load 5–10 µL per lane (or as directed by the paired antibody datasheet). Centrifuge the vial briefly before opening. Divide into single-use aliquots after first use to minimise freeze-thaw degradation.
Safety & Handling
STRICTLY FOR FURTHER SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH USE ONLY (RUO). MUST NOT TO BE USED IN DIAGNOSTIC OR THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS.
A positive control peptide is a pre-denatured protein sample in SDS-PAGE loading buffer, designed to be loaded alongside experimental samples to confirm that all Western Blot steps — gel, transfer, blocking, antibody incubation, and detection — are functioning correctly. A clearly visible band at the expected molecular weight validates the entire workflow before interpreting experimental results.
This product is supplied ready to use. No reconstitution, heating, or buffer preparation is required. Centrifuge the vial briefly, then pipette 5–10 µL per lane and load directly onto your SDS-PAGE gel alongside experimental samples.
Store at −20°C immediately upon receipt for long-term stability. Store at-20°C for long term storage. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.. Divide into single-use aliquots upon first opening to minimise freeze-thaw degradation. Do not store thawed product at 4°C for more than 48 hours.
Yes. Loading this control in a dedicated lane and probing with the corresponding antibody confirms detection under your experimental conditions. Note that the sample is denatured, so it specifically validates Western Blot conditions. Results may not predict antibody performance in native-condition assays (immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, IHC).
The UniProt accession is Q6ZMJ4, available at uniprot.org to verify canonical sequence, isoform data, and expression information.
