Compound Overview
JA-ACC, also known as Jasmonyl-ACC, is a derivative of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), the direct precursor of the plant hormone ethylene. It inhibits root growth in Arabidopsis, and this inhibition is independent of jasmonic acid (JA) signaling[1]. It is supplied as a colorless to light yellow oil (C16H23NO4, MW 293.36).

In Vitro
JA-ACC (Jasmonyl-ACC) is a pivotal molecule that can act as a modulator of hormonal cross-talk between the ethylene and jasmonic acid pathways[1]. In Arabidopsis leaves, JA-ACC is the second most abundant JA conjugate detected and is formed by JAR1, a JA-amino synthetase[2].
