KNK 437 is a small-molecule inhibitor of heat shock protein (HSP) expression, including HSP70, HSP40, and HSP105. It blocks the acquisition of thermotolerance and has been investigated in cancer therapy for its ability to sensitize cells to stress. In neuroscience, HSPs play a critical role in protein folding, aggregation prevention, and cellular stress responses. KNK 437 is used to study the role of HSPs in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, where protein misfolding and aggregation are central pathological features.
