Compound Overview

Lenaldekar, also known as LDK, inhibits both human and murine T-cell expansion and autoimmune T-cell responses, and it also induces cancer cell apoptosis. It can be used in research on T-cell-mediated autoimmune diseases[1][2]. It has a molecular formula of C18H14N4 and a molecular weight of 286.33 g/mol.

Safety

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and not for human or veterinary use. Handle in accordance with your institution's chemical hygiene plan.

In Vitro

Over 4 days, Lenaldekar inhibits CD3+ T cell proliferation in a dose-dependent manner, with an IC50 of 3 μM[1]. A memory T cell response to influenza antigen H3 is reduced by Lenaldekar (3 μM, 4 days)[1]. In Jurkat T-ALL cells, Lenaldekar (48 h) is cytotoxic, with IC50s of 0.8 μM, and it induces apoptosis (1 μM)[2].

In Vivo

In mice sensitized with the encephalitogenic PLP139-151 peptide, Lenaldekar (40 mg/kg per day, i.p.) inhibits relapse of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE)[1]. Lenaldekar (16 mg/kg, i.p., twice daily) inhibits tumor progression in a mouse xenograft model of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL)[2].
